[Pilouette takes a deep breath, feeling a combination of both excitment and nervousness. While she's become used to talking to people over the journals before, she's never...announced anything before, much less something she had a hand in organizing. But she's sure that a party would make people happy, especially as it's New Feather season. So, she does her best to calm her nerves and turns to the journals with a smile.]

Um! Hi, everyone! Pilouette here. W-Welcome to all the New Feathers! I hope you're all, like, settling in and stuff? Well, anyway, since there hasn't been one in a while, some of us thought it would be really nice to have a New Feather Party! You know, since it's New Feather season and all. I was thinking that maybe we should have it at the Rec Center, on the 24th maybe? That's, um, next week!

And they're a really good way for New Feathers to meet people here in the village so, um, I hope a lot of you decide to come. There's gonna be like, lots of food n' stuff and I bet it's gonna be like, so totally fun! If anyone else is interested in helping out or if you have any ideas or anything, like, just let me know! After all nothing is really like...set in stone or anything yet. Anyway, hope to see you there!

[After that, Pilouette will be going about her business in the village trying to prep things for the New Feather Party, talking to people trying to figure out what all they need.]

Oh! Well, I can't think of anything like, specific. Like I said everything is still kind of being planned. So any ideas you have would be like, totally awesome! B-But I guess I know for sure we'll need help setting up stuff!

[ There is a faint sound of her nodding. ] I don't mind setting up.

I'd like to help with information about Luceti if any of the New Feathers have any questions about what is in the guide.

Oh! That's a great idea! Some of that stuff is like, kind of hard to understand...

I wonder what the best way to organize that would be...like, an information booth or something? Or like, a question and answer session thingy?

An information booth would work, that way if they have any lingering questions they have the ability to ask them.

Otherwise, if they already haven't received it... the Guide can be sent to them personally upon request.

Oooh, yeah! Maybe we should have an extra person at the booth, though. Y-You know, like, just in case lots of people have questions. It might make it easier!

The guide stuff is really good, too...! Like, I didn't even know there was a guide until someone told me about it! Oooh, maybe we could have like, an FAQ sheet, too! That way you might not have to answer the same questions a lot!

Before I arrived to Luceti, I was a diplomat working for the United Nations, so I don't mind handling it on my own or repeating answers. You become accustomed to it once you start dealing with international relations.

It's the most I can do. Having a welcoming party is a good idea, especially considering most of those who arrive here don't really have a chance to fully understand what is going on before they're swept into it.

W-Well, I guess it wouldn't be bad to have so many. That way everyone can have some and we can give away the extra!

Hey, yeah! I mean, it's never bad to have extra cake! After all, you never really know when you're gonna really need some...I'll probably have to make some brownies or something, too!

[Pilouette can't help but laugh a little bit at Sophie's enthusiasm. Finally, someone who has the same enthusiasm about sweets as she does! ...Even if she is a little kid...]

Okay. Lots of brownies. And cookies, too! Maybe I can even decorate them with icing or something...

[Pilouette doesn't talk to children very often, but...well, this kid seems pretty nice.]

[Pilouette kind of figures that the "I will eat these" thing is what Sophie's plan is; she doesn't blame her either. After all, that's the best part.]

[She's so much more used to doing what she's asked than she is at planning things. The relief in her voice might be noticeable.]

[If Pilouette sounds relieved, then Grune sounds completely confident. She just knows you can do it!]

...Thanks, Miss Grune. I'll do my best! After all, it's pretty hard just...showing up in this place. So I really want it to go well, so all the New Feathers will feel a little better.

[Grune doesn't really know what she means by it being hard to show up in Luceti, but that's all right. There's something more important for her to say here.]

I think they'll be happy no matter what happens, because they'll know you were thinking about them and working hard just for them.

[Pilouette pauses to think about that before answering because...well, she had never thought about it that way. With very few exceptions, she had never thought that the things she did meant much to anyone. After all, as much as she tried to act like an adult, she was just a girl who just did what little she could.]

...You really think so?

Oh, yes. You're trying your best just for them, and that's important.

[Pilouette can't help but smile to herself. Grune had a point. After all, she knows that it always felt nice to know that someone did their best to do something for her and wanting to do the same for someone else...well, thinking about it makes her want to try.]

I'll totally work as hard as I can then! After all, I want everyone to have lots of fun!

And I'll help! I want everyone to have fun, too!

[There aren't many better goals than that, as far as she's concerned.]

And a lot of people are volunteering to help. So I'm sure if we all work together, everyone will have a really good time! And if it goes well, maybe we'll have another New Feather Party sometime!

[Grune never fails to lift Pilouette's mood when it comes to things like this, something that Pilouette will always be grateful for.]

Oh, yes, that's a good idea. Then you could make the new New Feathers happy, too!

[She then looks mildly confused. Yes, she really did just disorient herself. Good job, Grune.]

[She's a little sidetracked herself now. New New Feathers? Does that make everyone else Old New Feathers? But they weren't New Feathers at all anymore, were they? She snaps back to the matter at hand, deciding that whether the feathers are new or old, she can think about it later.]

E-Exactly! And even if it's a New Feather party anyone can enjoy it whether they're new or not! Heehee...I'm starting to get really excited for this...!

[And now she's back on track too. Hooray!]

Oh, me too! I just know it's going to be wonderful!

[A new Feather party huh? Wish there was one when he first came. But, hey, this was a chance to actually give the new people something a lot of them didn't get.]

W-well, I don't really have a lot to tell right now...! Stuff is um, still being figured out and stuff. I'm not even sure what all kinds of food and stuff we're gonna have...We might need help carrying stuff, though! And decorating, maybe!

A committee is really good idea! Along with you, I've already got some people who are totally willing to help! And it would be way easier to gather lots of ideas if we all grouped up...!

Well, It's going to be on the 24th...I wonder what time would be good, though. Maybe five or six o' clock? I said the rec center, but I wonder if that's too small...? There are usually like, a lot of people.

You think the date's a good idea? Don't the Molasses usually strike near the end of the month or at the beginning?

[He's been taking notice, seemed like there was some kind of frequency.]

Either way, time sounds good and maybe instead of doing it in a building we do a kind of outdoor party.

O-Oh...I didn't even think about that! Y-You don't think there's gonna be an experiment the day of the party, do you? That would like totally defeat the purpose...! Maybe I'll think about that...

An outdoor party might be nice bu, it's starting to get kind of hot, isn't it? Parties aren't as fun if everyone is outside sweating and stuff, you know?

Hmm, suppose so, but if it's at night it's a lot cooler too, isn't it? Besides, couldn't we get some magic going on and make it a bit cooler?

That's a good point...I'll have to find someone who can use that kind of magic, though. Or maybe we could have part of the party outside...! Like, a special evening portion of the party! ...But it's not that special if the only difference is that it's outside, huh...?

Party planning is a lot harder than I thought...

[Pilouette nods. Knowing more people will end up in Luceti isn't exactly a great thought. She had never thought about it before, but throwing a party feels a little strange. "You were dragged here against your will! WELCOME!" But perhaps it's better not to think about it.]

Well, why not? I train to get better but it's still worth something, isn't it?

Well, yeah, but you train to do like, important stuff. I'm not sure that learning to plan parties is something people think is like, totally essential or whatever.

Hey, parties are just as important as combat training. Think about it? If a little kid here who didn't have their parents had their birthday coming up, someone nice and willing to plan their party would be a good thing to have.

[Pilouette thinks hard. Not the decorations, a party could go on without those. The food, maybe? No, a party doesn't need food, but it certainly helps.]

Maybe...what would be the best way to help out the New Feathers. Like, that's the whole point of this party, right? To make them feel welcome! So that's probably the most important thing, right?

[This girl surprises her every single day, really. Mia laughs.]

You're right. That is the most important thing. Everything else just helps that along.

[Pilouette smiles. She hadn't thought of it that way, but...it's much nicer than wigging out about it the way she has been.]

Hmm...Someone did suggest setting up an information booth so New Feathers could ask questions. Maybe a map of the village might be nice to have up, too! After all, a lot of stuff about this place is pretty confusing when you're new...!

That sounds like a very practical idea. And it's one I think we can really use, new feathers and old ones alike.

Yeah! A-And I could make a chart of what everything is and talk about the school...Oh! I wonder if other people would want to tell the New Feathers about stuff, too? After all, there's a lot of stuff that I don't know all that much about...

And you shouldn't have to do all of the talking, either. People here are very helpful, I'm sure they'll want to contribute to this party.

Flyers are a good first step. New Feathers are already facing a lot of difficult information, so the news of a party might cheer them up a little.

Oh, that would be great! The last time we had to do party stuff, I think you [and the bear, not that she'll admit it] did way more than I did, so you'll like, totally be a big help!

O-oh, no way. I still couldn't have done it without you. [Because Panda definitely would have driven him completely insane on his own, no question about it.] But I'd be happy to help, even if it's only a little bit.

Well, I know I'll need help decorating and cleaning up after. And I'll need help getting stuff over there, too, and, um...Geez, it feels like there's so much to do that I can't, like, pin it all down! You know what I mean?

I don't know exactly...but, I think two or three bunches of New Feathers have arrived since then. I guess there just hasn't been one because things have been like...really wild lately or something.

Wow, that many, really? [It's actually pretty surprising to hear. Two or three groups of new people doesn't sound like much at first, but...] You're probably right, then, that is a long time. The last few months have been pretty weird...

[More for others than him, probably, but still, even he could see that things had been kind of crazy lately.]

Yeah. With that draft and that last experiment along with a bunch of other stuff...I guess there hasn't been much of a party atmosphere around here, huh?

[Not that there's usually any reason for a party atmosphere, given the situation, but...this party is something she'll have to take seriously.]

We'll just have to work extra hard to make sure that everyone has fun, then! If it'll cheer people up, even if they're not new, then it's super important!

I'm sure it will. It's been a long time, so it'll be something different. Maybe it'll even make things a little easier on everyone whenever the next experiment hits.

I hope so...Maybe if we're lucky, there won't be another experiment for a while. I would be so totally okay if there wasn't one for a long time.

[She sighs, but does her best to perk up a little.]

But right now, like, isn't the time to be thinking about whatever those dumb scientists are working on! We're going to have like, a super fun party whether they like it or not!

[Even though, the Malnosso probably don't care if they're having a party, but Pilouette is not exactly fond of them and every instance of happiness and normalcy she has here is a tiny way of fighting against them in her mind. ...Just a tiny one.]

Yeah, you're right. [Her attempt to cheer up doesn't go unnoticed. Shinji decides to do the same.] The important thing is that everyone has fun at the party. That's all that really matters.

[He always worried about the experiments, and he probably still would, but if they were going to make this party thing happen, it was definitely better not to focus on things like that.]

[She doesn't... sound okay...!]

[She's kind of fine. But not really.]

I should probably get to actually working on this stuff, though! A-After all, nothing happens without hard work, right?!

...yeah, right. [Maybe she's just nervous, he decides. He couldn't really blame her for that. He smiles encouragingly.] Let's just do our best. Let me know if you need anything, okay?

[She smiles as well, still a little nervous, but...well, she's less terrified of ruining everything now.]

But he's been going through some hard times the last few months - Katara being mallynapped and spending weeks as a different version of herself who avoided them all, Toph and Roku going home, plus all the scary things he's been hearing about Sokka lately - the stress let some of his Welcome Center duties go forgotten.]
