[A girl lies sleeping in the forest, bits of twigs and leaves stuck in her hair as she occasionally rolls over or turns. Dressed in the usual New Feather sundress, it would be easy to mistake her for a new arrival. However Pilouette has finally come back from the draft currently unaware that she had ever been out of action.

Whether someone wakes her up or she does so on her own, Pilouette is soon making her way back to the village. Though her regular walks in the forest are making it a little easier, she's still trying to get her head around just what happened. The last thing she remembers was being in Zompania. She was bandaging up Mac's wounds and they were plotting their next course of action. Then...Then the cultists found them and...

And then what? To say it's troubling would be an understatement.]

[Later on, when Pilouette is back to her apartment and more put together she realizes that she's missing a few things. Her bag of medical supplies and her first aid kit. The bag can be replaced. Given the conditions, she imagines anything that was in it was taken and used anyway. However, the first aid kit is special. Her best friend in this place had made it just for her. Aside from the features it had, that alone made it unique and precious to her. It's not just a tool. It's a precious keepsake.]

I-It's Pilouette. I'm back. I guess I've been gone for a while. Uh, sorry if anyone worried. Hey, so, like, when we were in... [She pauses briefly. It's almost as if the name hurts to say.] ...When we were in Zompania, I had a first aid kit with me. It's, um, really important so if any picked it up or if anyone has seen it, I'd really like to know.

[As she waits for responses, Pilouette is really starting to put it all together. She died, didn't she? She must have. After all, it was weeks after the last thing she remembered happening and it's not like the Malnosso would have kidnapped her off of a battlefield. She's not sure they could, even if they wanted to. She died in Zompania. Again. There's no other explanation.

There are still a lot of questions, though. She's not even sure exactly how she died which is a bit troubling. Then there's the question of her penalty. She has one. She has to. She just...doesn't know what it is. Something feels off, but she can't quite pin down what it is.. She supposes that she should be glad she was able to be brought back at all, penalty or no, but not knowing is the worst part.]

If it's even still around it's probably empty, now that I think about it.

Oh, that sounds pretty distinctive. It shouldn't be hard at all to find something that looks like that.

I'm sure someone probably picked it up if they found it-- most people wouldn't just leave something as useful as a first aid kit lying around.

Like, I sure hope so. It's like, totally irreplaceable. A friend of mine made it for me so I totally have to get it back...!

[She wants to believe that someone picked it up but the idea that it might have been lost is more than a little worrying to her.]

Your friend made it?

[Okay, that is DEFINITELY something that shouldn't end up lost on a battlefield somewhere.]

Then I'll help you look for it as the leader of Brave Vesperia. A present that your friend made for you is way more important than just a regular old first aid kit. You shouldn't have to be without something that's that special to you.

[As important as the kit is to her, she wasn't sure if anyone would really take it that seriously. However, she appreciates it more than Emil might know.]

Don't worry about it. I'm not doing it because I want something in return. I just don't want you to have lost a gift from a good friend, that's all. That would make anyone upset.

[He knows how sad he would be if he lost any of the things that his friends have given to him, especially the ones who aren't here anymore.]

Well, I-I know that's not why you're doing it, but I'd still like to do something in return sometime, okay? Especially as a fellow member of Brave Vesperia!

[Pilouette smiles. It's been quite a while since she joined and in that time she hasn't been able to do much...but she still feels like that she should do what she can for another member, especially since Emil is being so kind to her now.]

[It's hard to say no to someone who seems to earnestly want to repay him, even if he would've been fine with nothing more than a 'thank you.']

It would be kind of pointless to keep looking for something you'd already found. Not that it would be bad or anything. I'd much rather that than you not finding it at all.

R-Right? But really, as long as I get it back, I'll be happy, even if it takes a long time.

[Though, if it takes too long, she might just have to assume it's gone. After all, she can't keep people looking for it forever.]

But I'll be looking too, of course, so I bet we'll totally find it between the two of us!

[She really wants to believe that, but her voice might betray a little uncertainty.]

Yeah! The more pairs of eyes looking for it, the better. I'm sure we'll be able to track it down if we both work together.

[And if not, well... he's heard that the Malnosso give rewards with the points you can earn on missions...]

Right! And since I asked over the journals maybe someone else will be looking for it, too...

[She hopes so, anyway. After all, Precis was one of the few people who made Pilouette feel like she could really do something and that first aid kit is kind of a symbol of that.]

...I wonder if my friend would be mad that I lost it...?

I'm sure they wouldn't blame you if they knew you were using it to help other people. That is what a first aid kit is for, after all. It's a lot better than just letting it sit around on a shelf and never using it.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I guess if she didn't want me to use it, she wouldn't have made it in the first place. ...I still kinda hate seeing it get all dirty and dinged up and stuff, but I guess stuff like that really can't be helped, huh?

Just think of that as being proof that you've been putting it to good use.

Oh! Kinda like, um...battle scars or something, right?

[Pilouette smiles a little; she hadn't quite thought of it that way before! Each scuff and dent being another time she put all her hard work and studying to use...]

Yeah, exactly like that! Just like the kind you get on a weapon you've used a lot.

[That's something he's familiar with-- his sword has taken quite a beating after all of the battles he's been through.]

I think I get it...!

[She doesn't know much about weapons; she's not much of a fighter, after all. She had never thought to liken her kit to a weapon before, but...maybe it kind of was one. Every time she tended to an injury, she was fighting a battle, too.

Maybe. Or maybe that's just a bit silly. Still, it's a nice thought.]
